No Pain No Gain No Spin No BS

Not everyone is up for my cup of tea of opining and commentary.

This isn't some coffee shop, NYC braggart blog nor any other multitude of blogs which plays kissy-butt with its readers.

When I first got into the sports reporting biz many years ago I learned two things.

Report accurantly and don't be afraid to "shot from the hip" when offering opines.

I had two mentors in that philosophy, one a former head of the ABC Sports Radio Network and the other Howard Cosell.

While I never had the pleasure to have met the latter I always admired his style in offering unabashed "tell it even if it hurts" commentary. You either loved or hated Cosell, I the former.

So it is with my commentary with all things LGBT and more.

I don't blog to win popularity contests nor to get a gazillion readers or followers. I do it to speak my mind even when it goes against the flow of the norm to make everyone feel good and placate readers.

You either like or despise my writings .. take me or leave me the choice is yours.

With that in mind this commentary on the recent FRC shooting will likely anger many but then common sense and truth often does.

As Cosell did, I'm just telling it like it is.

I love all the rehashes on blogs, websites, FB, etc about what FRC and the like are and do.

Shit if people don't know by now they never will .... Slow blogging days comrades ?

No Divorce For de Pregnant Man

Remember this "guy" ?

Thomas Beatie the woman who would be man ... but ... kept "his" reproductive parts while having "his" body mutilated by having "his" boobs removed and taking meds to give "him" the appearance of a man.

In case you, as I, didn't know "he" not only gave birth to a child which gave him more than 15 minutes of fame, but also had two others. Then decided that instead of eight is enough, "he" and "his" "wife" decided three are enough.

In 2003 "he" had legal documentation which says she was a "he" and thus "married" Nancy but apparently the bliss didn't continue as "he" sought a divorce in Arizona.

[ pregnant pause for writer to continue ]

However, surprise, a judge in the Grand Canyon state says, nope, no way Jose'.

You see the judge says "his" and her marriage is one of same-sex which of course Arizona doesn't recognize. According to reports the judge doesn't quite see "he" as being a "he" since "he" has given birth to three children, ergo "he" is a she.

In the judge's argument he can't find any legal authority which defines a man as someone who can give birth. And to add to that, he (the judge .. a real he) doesn't have permission to divorce a couple who in his opinion was never married in the first place.

So it goes, fifteen minutes of fame not quite well thought out as to what would happen "if" .

Linda McMahon Wins Senate

Well she has won the Connecticut US Senate Republican primary beating out Chris Shays and in doing so did it with spending less money than last time.

Voter turnout here on Tuesday was predictable with primaries, low turnout only about 30% with more Reps than Demos voting across the state.

So what made the difference this time ?

In the mind and eyes of this former reporter of local, state and national elections in Connecticut she had a theme that worked.

I'm just like you.

Her ads and her public appearances were down to earth. Gone was the air of self-made privilege amassed from her vast company the WWE which is based in Stamford.

In her ads she discusses being with child while she and husband Vince were in college, having to file for bankruptcy and starting over.

Her campaign did something few can do and amazingly for a Republican, have people relate to her and past circumstance no matter their political belief or stand.

It will be interesting to see this November how Independents vote and if she swings moderate Demos over with her down-home approach.

My prediction is she will win the seat being vacated by I-Senator Joe Lieberman and my 5th Congressional District will go back to the Republican side too.

I'll also predict unless Obama can get out the voter count of four years ago when it comes to November it's going to be a tight race with possibly the Republicans squeaking out a win.

You see boys and girls the vast majority of Americans don't give a hoot about LGBTs.

At this point and time it's about getting work, getting the economy to rebound, getting home prices back up .. in short it's the economy stupid.

And as far as Medicare don't get sucked into all the Liberal bias on that one.

Much to the chagrin I'm sure of CNN, Dr. Sanjay Gupta on Tuesday perfectly explained the deal about Medicare and it's not the doom and gloom the Liberals try to pass off.

Hard pill for you to swallow perhaps but this isn't the year for all things gay, in fact it's less than ever. Better luck next go round.

Romney Ryan That's Amore

The LGBT Elites will be having fun with the Mitt Romney - Paul Ryan GOP ticket so much so I can hear the screams of ecstasy as I write and at this time of the early hours of Saturday morning the official announcement hasn't even been made yet.

Both GOProud and Log Cabin Republicans should be out over the weekend with their say on the ticket and in the short and long run, the opinion of those two groups is all that matters .... not that of socialist Cheetos stained brats who will opine and continue to wave their stained Rainbow flag for POTUS.

While this ticket may not be enough for the GOP to take away the White House, it surely will make for interesting conversation, not from the slanted Liberal press as what they will say will be redundant and old hat, but from the Conservative side of the Fourth Estate.

Will the addition of Ryan be enough for Conservatives to enthusiastically jump on board or will their vote remain one of "anybody but Obama" ?

And not taking very long to react both GOProud and the Log Cabin Republicans are pleased with Ryan's appointment as Romney's running mate.
