PBS' In The Life Comes To An End

About an hour ago the website for PBS' award winning program In The Life tweeted a link to a "farewell my lovelies" letter explaining the program will come to an end this December 20 years after it began its run.

Started back in 1992 with its often hard to find programming as many PBS stations in local markets didn't carry it because of its "content", that being about all things gay, its following grew as for many years, long before LOGO, it was the only way for de gay to get a look at itself. LOGO as you probably know through the infinite wisdom (?) of the powers that be at Viacom has decided to make the once only for de gay channel to go "mainstream".

This writer will certainly miss In The Life, which I myself for a very long time could only view on WNET-TV from NYC as our PBS broadcast channels here in Connecticut didn't (or was it wouldn't ?) carry it.

You can read the full letter at the link above.

From this writer and on behalf of a grateful LGBT community, a big hug and kiss to the producers of the show and also PBS who had the courage to air such a series when PBS was continually attacked from the Religious and Conservative Right for doing so.

In The Life Media was founded in 1992 on the belief that real stories about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people are our greatest asset in the fight for equality. By bringing those stories into living rooms across the country for the past 20 years, ITLM has shattered stereotypes and helped pave the way for today’s LGBT movement. In the process, we have evolved into the most honored and respected producer of LGBT journalism on television and online.

Much has changed since our programming first premiered. LGBT people now figure prominently in television news and media. Lesbian and gay soldiers serve openly and proudly in the military. A majority of Americans, including our President, support marriage equality. Studies show that visibility is the driving force behind this rapid shift in cultural attitudes toward the LGBT community. As the media organization that pioneered LGBT visibility on television, we believe ITLM played a significant role in this historic progress.

Today, we pause to celebrate ITLM’s remarkable legacy and announce a conclusion and a new direction.

Robert Kosilek Bilks MA Taxpayers

This miscreant Robert Kosilek and because of an equally miscreant federal judge will now be bilking MA taxpayers as this murderer of his wife in 1990 gets to become a faux paux female.

US District Judge Mark Wolf said, female hormones have "helped somewhat," but the inmate "continues to suffer intense mental anguish" because she truly believes she is a woman trapped in a man's body. That anguish alone constitutes a serious medical need," Wolf wrote. "It also places him at high risk of killing himself if his major mental illness is not adequately treated." according to the article at Huff Post.
Well gee we wouldn't want this miserable fuck to kill himself now would we ?

And I suppose once this wannabe event happens he'll then be moved to a women's prison where he can prey on women as a "lesbian".

So there you are me lads, murder someone in The Bay State, go to prison for life instead of having a date with old sparky and you too will be able to be turned into the bride of Bubba at the expense of taxpayers.

Tampa Lez Top Cop To de Rescue

Honest to God some folks will grasp at anything of de gay to make a claim or prove a point.

Enter Lynette Mae, self-described police officer and writer.

In a piece at Huff Post she gives all the credit to a mostly orderly little event recently held in Tampa to the city's police chief.

Not because Jane Castor and her staff did a good job in prevailing right over wrong, keeping things orderly and serving justice when it needed to be served.

No not because of these things but .. hold on to your pantyhose boys and girls .... because Chief of Police Jane Castor is a lesbian.

Go ahead kids go get that drink .. I made a cup of coffee before writing this.

I submit to you that Tampa had a secret weapon, more powerful than any well-armed force, ultra-rich conservatives, or devious anarchist hell bent on destruction and violence to incite the masses. Tampa has L-Chief.

All righty then.

I'm sure Ms. Castor will be glad to know, according to Ms. Mae, the redeeming quality in which Ms. Castor does a good job is because of her sexual identity.

Michelangelo Signorile Cub Reporter

Mikey Signorile alleged ace mic-mouth and journalist took some time out during the Republican convention to do a poor and insulting "journalistic" Mike Wallace style ambush of Ill-R Congressman Aaron Schock.

Signorile tweeted that he asked Schock if he is gay and according to cub reporter Signorile, Schock's response to the question "was ridiculous and inappropriate" and when "storming off" said he was not.

Of course Mikey defends asking the question "because there have been rumors reported in the media".

Yep this makes for great journalism these days. Of course we have to take Mikey's word for it that this conversation even took place.

Too bad the Congressman left before Mikey was able to do a follow up question which I'm sure would have been, " so Congressman how big is your cock".

Yep this is what passes for journalism in the world of gay dumb and some folks are stupid enough to pay to get it by subscribing to SAT-Radio.

You'd expect this on the Howard Stern show but from someone who is supposed to be one of LGBT's shining stars of the spoken word and print is quite simply a pathetic attempt to embarrass "an opponent" of LGBTs and to pad Mikey's 15 minutes of fame and fortune.
